A Little Birdy Told Me...

We have been featured over at Inventing Weddings, an inspiration site exclusively made of etsy handmade items. Truly, I am honored to be featured as part of such a hip little board, from the great colors to the little birds. The site is amazing, and the picks are incredibly thoughtful and artistic. I think its going to be my new favorite blog for a while, and has been added to the sidebar links.

Choosing a Length: Part 7 - Birdcage Veils!

I've been collecting fantastic images of birdcage veils for a while now, so this post is really more of a photo essay. Birdcage veils are becoming the go-to for fashion forward brides who want to be different, edgy, and classic all at the same time. Birdcage veils are able to be classic, old-hollywood and super modern chic at the same time. They look incredibly hip with a shorter dress, glamorous with a strapless gown, and gracious with a soft flirty dress. A fascinator (flower clip) is a must, and you can find so many fabulous designs on etsy with feathers and silk, avant garde or simple.

Now on to the fun part, The Photographs:

I love the length of the dress on the right.

LOVE the little ivory hat with black veiling. SO cute with her grey suit.

Another length I love.

Sweet and Elegant here.

Perfect if you want COLOR.

Make sure you look at her dress in the mirror!

More Letterpress

Remember Friday how I said how much I love letterpress? Here is a little bit more from Ajalon Printing and Design. This adorable, family-run letterpress printer has a lovely wedding invitation gallery, and a very informative blog. Having trouble deciding what your wedding invitations should say? Here is some helpful advice. I also really enjoyed a short history of letterpress here.

Ajalon is currently offering 100 letterpress invitations and enclosure cards for only $398. This is an amazing deal, as letterpress is truly an art. Email ajalon@ajalon.com for more information.

Etsy Friday: Paper Stories Letterpress

I have been completely in love with letterpress lately. There is something so appealing in the texture, the colors, and graphic quaintness of it all. This Friday, I am featuring Paper Stories Letterpress. These cards, from her Bittersweet collection, are probably not appropriate for a wedding blog, but I cannot resist a bit of pretty irony.

Luckily for us, she is also brilliant with custom wedding invitations, and they are just as pretty.

Choosing a Length: Part 6 - Shoulder Length

If you are looking for something truly unique, the shoulder length veil is a serious contender. The birdcage veil (post coming soon!) has become the go-to for hip brides, so much so that it is becoming uber trendy. The shoulder length veil is still a bit obscure, evoking 1950's era glamour and grace. Audrey Hepburn wore a should length veil in Funny Face. It is the perfect veil for a tea-length dress.

Again, so cute with a shorter dress here.

Lovely in French Netting, as above.

Paired again with a really great 50's style dress.

Sweet, elegant, and unique, this veil should not be overlooked.
